Cycle in strategic phase of development

This cycle represents the sequence of actions to be carried out during the period of the strategic plan. The period equates to the time needed to fully address and exploit the special challenge in the plan.

The resources and organisation of the enterprise must be able to cope with the new levels of capability required.

On achievement of a strategy, a new strategic plan is drawn up and this cycle commences again. The positioning, resources, organisation, and outcomes of the new strategy will be different from the previous strategy. Competencies in the resources and organisational structures will evolve further to meet the new challenges. These competencies will represent a stepped approach to greater capability for each competence.
