Back to school for senior IT execs

REPRESENTATIVES from a number of Chinese software companies are currently in Ireland to improve their technical and management skills. Some 13 senior technical personnel, including six vice-presidents, from eight of China's main software firms were in the country to learn from the successes of the Irish software industry and to develop commercial relationships with local firms.

The representative have come to Dublin for advanced technical and management training at the Centre for Software Engineering (CSE) at Dublin City University. The Chinese representatives will be undertaking full training in software engineering over the next six months and are hoping to meet up with representatives from local companies.

The CSE, which has provided training and mentoring support services to the software industry in Ireland for the past ten years, entered into a formal arrangement with the China International Talent Exchange Foundation last year to assist in the development of China's emerging software industry. Among the Chinese companies being represented in Ireland are Hunan Computer Company, Supertech Data Systems, CVIC Software Engineering and Whuan Gemway Information Systems.
